Opinion n°8: Ethical issues of facial, posture and behavioural recognition technologies
The French National Pilot Committee for Digital Ethics (N.P.C.D.E.) today published its opinion on the ethical issues surrounding facial, postural and behavioural recognition technologies. These technologies have grown rapidly over the last decade and now affect sectors such as security, finance and transport. In this evolving context, the N.P.C.D.E. highlights the ambivalent nature of these technological advances, offering potentially beneficial opportunities while raising legitimate concerns about individual freedoms.
