The German Ethics Committee, Deutscher Ethikrat, the U.K. Nuffield Council on Bioethics and the French National Ethics Advisory Committee held a trilateral seminar in Berlin on December 17, 2009. The Agenda included the following themes: - Nuffield Council on Bioethics: The public consultation process on dementia. Presentation and discussion. - Comité Consultatif National d'Ethique / National Ethics Advisory Committee: Review process of the bioethics legislation in France. - Deutscher Ethikrat / German Ethics Council: Recent changes in German legislation with regard to bioethics. - Actual work program and future perspectives of the Ethics Councils. - Short presentation from each Council followed by discussion about current bioethical topics. - Actual debate on donation of human cells, tissue and organs. A further meeting between the three Committees is due to be hosted by the French National Ethics Advisory Committee in Paris in December 2010. |
